Phaya Thai BTS Station is a skytrain station on the Bangkok's Sukhumvit Line in Ratchathewi District. Located at junction of Thanon Phaya Thai and Thanon Si Ayutthaya, the station is also the interchange between the BTS and the Airport Rail Link, which connects the Bangkok downtown to the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in just 25 minutes. The station is surrounded by government edifices, office towers, huge condominiums and buildings, including Suan Pakkad Palace, Traditional Thai antiques Museum and Gallery, King Power Duty Free Mall, the Phayathai Plaza Tower and the vertiginous skyscraper of Baiyoke Sky Hotel. Opened in 1997 as Thailand’s tallest building, the Baiyoke Tower has lost its leadership in August 2016, when was opened the MahaNakhon skyscraper, however, with its 309 meters high, 1,014 ft, it still is the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia and the seventh-tallest all-hotel structure in the world.
