Hua Hin's Beaches
Hua Hin is the most popular seaside resort on the western side of the Gulf of Thailand. Situated about 220 km from Bangkok, in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan, this part of the Gulf is characterized by long sandy beaches. Most are wide, with shallow water and almost non-existent sea currents, suitable for families and even inexperienced swimmers. The beaches of Hua Hin area are considered the beaches of the capital, the usual destination for the weekend of many Bangkok residents. While the beaches of Phuket and Koh Samui have only recently been discovered, Hua Hin has always been the favorite seaside resort for the Thais. Over the years, Hua Hin has developed nicely, with no aggressive growth that has characterized most Thai seaside resorts. The wide range of services and its tranquility have made Hua Hin a favorite destination also by many foreign tourists.
