Hat Yai Bus Terminals
Hat Yai is the largest city of Songkhla province, and it is the most important bus hub in southern Thailand. Most of the buses direct to the most southern provinces of the Kingdom cross through it. Hat Yai has two bus terminals, both in the city centre. The larger is the Hat Yai Bus Station 1. It is located in neighborhood of Kho Hong, close to Diana Plaza Shopping Center. The terminal is the main departure and arrival point for all long-distance buses, which connect Hat Yai to Bangkok, Trang, Surat Thani, Krabi, Phuket, Koh Samui and other southern destinations. The terminal is also the starting point, or transit, of all international buses that connect Thailand to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The terminal is also used as Minivan Terminal for the minibuses that running towards some southern destinations, like Songkhla, Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, as well as for the Thai border cities of Padang Besar and Betong, and also Penang, the famous Malaysian seaside resort. The other smaller terminal is the Hat Yai Minivan Station, known by local as Talat Kaset. It is located in Hat Yai Nai, about 4 Km from other terminal, near the supermarket Tesco Lotus. The terminal is used mainly by minibuses which connect Hat Yai to the other southern destinations, such as Satun, Phatthalung, Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Surat Thani, and the seaside resorts of Krabi, Phang Nga and Phuket.

Bus Schedules to Hat Yai from Sai Tai Mai Southern Terminal Bangkok
The Southern Bus Terminal Bangkok is located north-west of the city centre on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. It is also named Sai Tai Mai Taling Chan or more simply Sai Tai Mai, which means "New South Line", because this is a new bus station. The terminal is the main departure point for buses and minibuses from the capital to Southern and Western regions of Thailand. Sai Tai Mai terminal is quite far from the city centre. There are not subway stations, MRT, nearby. The nearest station of Skytrain, BTS, is Bang Wa, 14 km away. One option to reach the terminal is to use public buses, but the bus lines in Bangkok are difficult to understand by tourists, and impractical for those who stay already in the capital and have many luggage, only those who are in transit from capital's airports have access to direct bus lines. In conclusion, for the majority of foreigners in Bangkok, boarding a metered taxi is probably the best choice to get to and from Southern Bus Station. Taxis in Bangkok are a convenient and economical method of moving. A taxi ride from Khao San Road or Dusit area, 18 km away, costs about 100-150 THB for a twenty-minute journey. Note: schedules and fares are subject to change without prior notice, often, depending on the season, prices are lowered or raised, the lines are reduced or deleted.
