Koh Pha Ngan's Beaches
Koh Pha Ngan, or Ko Phangan, is located just 12 north of Koh Samui. Although its surface is less than half of the nearby main island, Koh Pha Ngan has an abundance of pristine beaches. The whole costline is a succession of sheltered bays that host beautiful beaches with white sand and crystal clear water. The island also has a beautiful coral reef on its north-eastern coast; rich in marine life is an ideal place for snorkelling and scuba diving. Discovered by tourism in the early '80s, the first travellers who arrived to Koh Pha Ngan were backpackers and hippies seeking an escape from the crowds of Ko Samui. Even today the island has an informal atmosphere with quiet beaches, friendly people and a tourist development that has respected the environment.

Ao Chaloklum
Ao Chaloklum is a beautiful bay located in the middle of island's northern coast, with lush hills that surround it. Along the entire bay stretches a beautiful crescent-shaped white sandy beach, about two kilometres in length. The bay was originally a small fishing village; in fact it's still a hub for fishermen and their fishing boats. Over time it has had a discrete tourism development, but still preserving its quiet atmosphere. Behind the beach there are numerous accommodations, seafood restaurants, shops, bars and a few diving centres.Read More
