Pattaya's Beaches
Located about 150 km south-east of Bangkok, Pattaya is one of the most popular seaside cities in all of South East Asia. The resort city is well-known as Thailand's entertainment capital and is recommended to tourists who want a beach holiday without giving up the pleasures of shopping and nightlife. Pattaya's beaches, namely Pattaya Beach, Jomtien and Wong Amat, certainly are not known for their beauty, but they compensate by offering tourists a good quality of services, with a multitude of hotels, bars, restaurants and shops located on the waterfront, and all kinds of seaside activities, like Jet Ski, speed boats, parasailing and banana boats. Contrariwise, the nearby islands have white sand beaches and crystal clear waters, suitable for swimming and snorkelling. Among these Koh Larn is the closest, just 7.5 km off Pattaya coast, and boasts stunning white sand beaches comparable to those in the Andaman Sea. The tiny island is connected to Pattaya City with a ferry service leaving from Bali Hai Pier at end of Walking Street.
