Phromthep Cape is the most beautiful viewpoint in Phuket and the most loved by photographers. Every late afternoon many tour buses, scooters and private cars fill the parking on the hill over the headland which allows enjoying a great view of a sunset over the Andaman Sea unmatched on the island. Phromthep Cape also has a lighthouse which is home of an interesting exhibit with maritime historical artefacts. From its top you have a spectacular view over the southern coast of island and its surrounding islands. On a clear day from the lighthouse are easily distinguishable the Phi Phi Islands, Koh Racha Yai and Koh Racha Noi and the neighbouring Koh Kaeo Yai with its Buddhist monastery. In the parking there are some shops and the inevitable stalls selling Thai street food. For those love to enjoy a dinner with a romantic view, in the right after the stairs there is also a restaurant with a beautiful view over the beaches of Nai Harn and Ya Nui.
