Pattaya Walking Street is the well-known heart of the city's entertainment. Closed to vehicles from late evening until late in the night, this 800-meter stretch of Beach Road (Thanon Hat Pattaya) in South Pattaya is one of city's main tourist areas, both for nightlife and shopping with plenty of shops, seafood restaurants, pubs, sports bars and discothèques open until late at night. Although there are some new and popular nightclubs in North and South Pattaya, most of discothèques in the city are set along the Walking Street. Equipped with state-of-the-art audio and lighting systems, these discothèques feature local and international resident DJs playing a mixture of Hip Hop, House, Techno and latest Hits, while the clubs frequented mainly by Thais usually alternate the DJ's performances with live music, often accompanied by graceful dancers. Walking Street in Pattaya is also renowned as one of the biggest and most crowded red light districts in all of Thailand with the highest concentration of beer and go-go bars in the city. Although Pattaya is striving to become a family-oriented seaside destination, the sex industry is still going strong and sex tourism remains the main source of income for the city.Read More
