Klong Prao Beach

Situated about 11 km south of Ao Sapparot Pier, Had Klong Prao is a beautiful, long white sandy beach on the island's west coast. Surrounded by crystal clear waters, it is ideal for bathing and all types of water activities, including canoeing and kayaking to the adjacent islands of Koh Yuak and Koh Pli, where you can also enjoy a good snorkelling. Along the beach there are no annoying jet skis, banana boats and parasailing. Klong Prao Beach is divided into two sections by the estuary of river flowing from Klong Plu Waterfall; the southern part has an interior lagoon with mangrove forest. The beach itself does not offer much in terms of facilities, only a few medium-high resorts are located beach front, with prices ranging from 3,500 to 7,000 THB per night depending on the type of rooms.However, in Klong Prao is also the prestigious Amari Emerald Cove, which offres rooms and suites from 6,000 to 16,000 THB per night. Most accommodations are located on both sides of the main in Klong Prao village not too far from the beach, and offer accommodations of all types and all budgets. Also restaurants are located along the costal road and serve traditional Thai and Western dishes based on fish. In Klong Prao is a permanent market selling clothing and articles for sea, a number of souvenir stalls and street food kiosks are also present.
