Located on the ground floor of the St Regis Hotel, Zuma Japanese Restaurant is the most recent addition to the Zuma Group, an international brand with branches in London, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Miami, and Dubai. Bangkok's new branch is situated on Ratchadamri Road in Pathum Wan district, in the heart of capital, and is easily accessible via the nearby Ratchadamri BTS Station. The posh restaurant in Bangkok is designed by Noriyoshi Muramatsu of famous Studio Glitt Tokyo, and, like other subsidiaries worldwide, it is based on a traditional Izakaya, a type of informal Japanese gastrolounge. Izakaya are casual restaurants for eating and drinking after work, where customers order a variety of small dishes of food that can be shared at the tables, one of the most common and popular restaurant types in Japan. Zuma delivers one of the best and innovative Japanese cuisine in Bangkok, in an elegant and sophisticated establishment, yet still fun and informal, which is reminiscent of a japanese garden with a natural stone open kitchen.
