Located on the southern tip of east coast, Long Beach is probably the most spectacular and pristine beach in Koh Chang. Overlooking the bay of Salak Phet, the beach lies in front and close to Koh Phrao Nok, Koh Phrao Nai and Koh Ngam, the islands situated at south of Koh Chang that can be easily reached with a kayak. The pristine beach is truly impressive. It consists of a long strip of white sand soft as talcum lined by palm trees and surrounded crystal clear water of a beautiful turquoise colour. Definitely it is a hidden tropical paradise little known. Until 2016, there were few tourists who venture here due to the distance from the vital center of island but mainly for the bad conditions of the last stretch of dirt road leading to the beach. Nowadays, the road has finally been paved and the long trip is rewarded abundantly. The only resort open in Long Beach is the Tree House, a small eco-resort with wooden bungalows. It is very naïf and cheap, built almost entirely of wood it has a bar and restaurant on a terrace overhanging the sea below. There were other three resorts in the area, one open and then closed and two others never completed, but are currently under seizure by park authorities due to building abuse. Tourists arriving here and staying at the resort usually does not move more in the rest of the island, enjoying a heavenly vacation in absolute relaxation. This part of the island as essential services, there is water but is not reached by the electric current, the eco-resort has a generator, there is no telephone line or mobile roaming. If you love a beach holiday away from the crowds, and you want a little quiet paradise or you feel like Di Caprio in The Beach movie, this is the perfect place for you.
Getting there - To reach Long Beach you must follow the eastern coastal road until the extreme south pf island. Reached Salak Khok, 1 km after The Spa Koh Chang, turn left and follow the Soi Sao Trat 4110 Alley leading to Wat Watchakam Kotchataweep, located just 1 km after the junction, then following the signs for Long Beach and Tree House resort another 6 km of hilly road will allow you to reach the beach.Read More
