Laem Singh Beach

Hidden in a small bay between Kamala and Surin Beach on island's west coast, Laem Singh Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket. Practically invisible from the coastal road, the 280-meter white sandy beach extends at the foot of a steep rocky promontory and overlooks amazing crystal-clear turquoise waters. Surrounded by lush vegetation and dotted with large granite boulders, it has the feeling of a secret Caribbean beach. Unfortunately, it is a secret that is now well-known and, because of its attractive beauty and limited size, the beach becomes rather crowded during the high season and even pleasantly busy on sunny days of low season. Getting Laem Singh Beach takes a 5-minute down walk from the hill between Kamala and Surin Beach. Following the coastal road, just before Surin, you will see you will see two downhill paths leaving from two distinct car parks, located just to the north and to the south of Laem Singh Beach. The northernmost path being the easier of the two. Parking here will cost 20 baht for motor bikes and 40 baht for a car. There is also an additional fee of 100 baht per person to access the beach. The pristine beach is suitable for all seaside activities, although during the monsoon season due to the high currents and deep sea it can become dangerous. The northern part is good for body boarding and swimming, while the southern end is the best spot for snorkelling, in particular around the rocky headland, where you will see nice coral and a lot of beautiful coloured fish. Kayaks, body boards and inflatable boats and snorkelling equipment can be hired from the restaurants on the beach. During high season, banana boats, jet skis and water-skis are also available. Along the beach you will find a few open-air restaurants set under the shady trees. Due to Laem Singh is a particularly popular destination for Italian visitors, most restaurants serve tasty pizzas and a decent Napolitan cuisine, mostly seafood dishes, and of course Thai seafood dishes. At the southern end of the beach are a couple of bars, as well as a rudimentary shower. Thai beach massages are set under the shade of the trees at the bottom of the hill, and cost around 300 baht per hour. Laem Sing Beach is one of Phuket's undeveloped beaches, and there aren't resorts or hotels directly on the beach. The only accommodations in the area are the luxurious villas located on top of Laem Sing, the northern promontory that gives its name to the beach, although there is a wide range of luxurious hotels, resorts and budget hotels located in the nearby Surin Beach.Read More

Therefore, nowadays the only possible access to the beach is by the sea with longtail boats.
