Koh Khai Nok, Koh Khai Nai and Koh Khai Nui are three small islands in the southernmost part of Phang Nga Bay, between the east coast of Phuket and Koh Yao Yai. Koh Khai Nok is the largest of three, but still rather unknown and undeveloped, although it is a little gem in the Andaman Sea. Just in front of it there are the smaller Koh Khai Nai, a tiny privately owned island, and Koh Khai Nui, which it is little more than a rocky outcrop in the sea. Koh Khai Nok has a pristine white sandy beach that surrounds a small green hill. The shallow sea around the beach has a spectacular reef which is ideal for snorkelling and swimming. The water is full of small reef fish, so even non-swimmers can enjoy the marine life. There are at least twelve types of exotic tropical fish in the reef and they aren't afraid of humans. Koh Khai Nok is only used for day trips; there aren’t overnight accommodations available on island. However, there are a few restaurants, bars and small shops which selling everything, from T-shirts to sarongs and handicraft souvenirs. On island there is even a small dive shop with reasonable prices.
Getting there - Koh Khai Nok is the ideal choice for day trips, even because reach it takes only 15 minutes by speedboat from Laem Hin Pier in Phuket Town. You can buy half day tour, morning or afternoon, or full-day tour to any tourist agency of Phuket. The package includes the transfer to the islands, lunch buffet, in full-day tour, and rental of equipment for snorkelling. Prices range from 1,100 to 1,400 THB depending on the option chosen.
