Opened since 2009, Fantasia Lagoon is a relatively large and attractive water park built on the rooftop level of The Mall Bangkae, a shopping centre situated about 14 west of Bangkok's downtown. Located in Khet Bang Khae, one of 15 districts in the Tomburi side of the capital, the water park is very close to city centre, compared to the most famous Siam Park City or Dream World, nevertheless the park is almost unknown to tourists. Almost all of the guests are Thais who appreciate it very much, so the park is very busy during all weekend and public holidays. The park was recently refurbished and divided into various themed zones, offering various water slides, large pools, a lazy river, waterfalls, whirlpools and play areas fitted with a pirate ship. Park's highlight includes a sweeping city views visible from atop of larger Slider Tower. There are water entertainments for every age. Fantasy Fountain is for the youngest, while Pirate Cove and the Slider Tower for the more daring. Magic Jungle, Mystery Island and Ocean 10 zones are full of water activities suitable for a wide range of age. Most of pools are quite shallow, even children over 90 centimetres tall will be able to stand in the water alone. There are some height restrictions on the larger slides, and smaller slides are available only for the younger set. On the rooftop is a Food Court wher you can order Thai dishes, cool off with an iced drink or enjoy an ice cream. At The Mall Bangkae there is also an indoor amusement park with air conditioned, on the floor below Fantasia Lagoon, which provides many rides and activities in a fun space designed to resemble a cartoon town with a painted sky and an old fashion merry-go-round. Water Park is open from Monday to Friday from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm, while on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Getting there - The Mall Bangkae is located on Phetkasem Road in Bang Khae District, about 14 west of city centre. The easiest way to reach the water park from downtown is approach to it with the SkyTrain until Bang Wa BTS Station, the Silom Line's last station, and then use a taxis for the last 6 km of path, fare is about 100 THB.
