Situated roughly in the center of pristine Sunrise Beach on Koh Lipe, Castaway Resort is a boutique, rustic resort directly overlooking the white sand beach and the incredible turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea. Described by Lonely Planet as the most chic resort of Koh Lipe, this 3-star property brings the spirit of 'The Beach' to life. Influenced by traditional Thai construction methods, all resort's buildings are made of natural hardwoods built on posts buried in the ground, thus eliminating the need for concrete foundations, and roofs made from local thatch. The combination of natural materials keeps the bungalows cooler as they don’t retain the heat. The bungalows themselves catch the winds that come in off the beach and channel them inside, keeping you cool as you sleep, even without air conditioning. Featuring 46 guest rooms, Castaway Resort offers Beach Front Bungalows, Sea View Bungalows, and Garden Bungalows. Most of accommodations are two storey open-plan bungalows with a living area and a large bathroom downstairs, an upstairs bedroom and a small balcony connecting you with nature. There are also some one storey open-plan bungalows with safety gates on the stairs and safer balconies for families with children. All bungalows feature nice natural breezes, large ceiling fan, a deck and a hammock. The beachfront restaurant & bar serves European and Thai traditional dishes, as well as a varied selection of vegetarian dishes, and dishes suitable for children. The restaurant and bar areas offer a wide variety of seating options, from conventional seating within our two buildings to a large covered deck with cushions and low tables where you can look out over the sea.
