Ao Tanote

Located in the center of Koh Tao's east coast, Ao Tanote is a beautiful secluded bay surrounded by high and steep hills covered with lush tropical vegetation. The beach in the bay is one of the best spots for snorkeling or diving in Koh Tao, unfortunately during the monsoon season the sea is always rough and the currents are dangerous, making bathing not recommended. The strip of sandy beach is about 200 meters long and is dotted with large polished granite rocks, more numerous and bigger on the two small headlands at both ends, where are also located the couple of bungalow-style resorts in the bay. The secluded Ao Tanote is easly accesible with a long tail boat from Mae Haad. There is also a path leading to the beach, however it is pratically impassable during the monsoon season. Read More
