Ao Leuk is a large bay in the south-eastern coast of Kho Tao. It hosts a white sandy beach surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Overlooking incredible emerald waters, the beach is very small, just over 100 meters in length, but is considered one of finest in the island, a real little corner of paradise where you can enjoy a relaxing day, swim and snorkel almost in solitude. Ao Leuk is never crowded because getting to the bay is not easy, unless you enjoy hiking. You can approach the bay with the concrete road leading from Mae Haad to east coast, but the last stretch is a downhill hiking trail through dense vegetation. It is very challenging and almost impracticable during the rainy season, so the best way to reach Ao Leuk is to use a longtail boat from Mae Haad, about 25-minute boat ride. In the bay there are a few bungalow accommodations, some are set in the lush coconut plantation lining the beach; others are situated on the rocky promontories enclosing the bay.Read More
