The Venezia is a theme shopping mall and attraction village that was recently opened on the outskirts of Hua Hin, right on the way to Cha-Am. The inspiration of this magnificent project came from a simple good idea: instead of another large anonymous shopping mall, build a charming replica of Venice in Thailand, although on a much smaller scale. The theme village has been designed respecting the original architecture of Italian's world famous lagoon town, and includes some of its famous landmarks such as St. Mark’s Square, the Bell Tower and even a 200 meter 'Grand Canal' on which you can actually get a ride on iconic Venetian gondolas. Conveniently located along the Phetkasem Road, just 4 kilometres north of Airport and 15 Km from downtown, it is easily accessible by car or taxi from anyone staying in Hau Hin. The shopping center covers an area of 73,600 square meters and currently houses about 300 shops and boutiques, but there is capacity for over 350 stores when complete. The car park has been built with enough space to handle 2000 cars so you shouldn’t have a problem finding place to park. The brightly colored buildings are lined up on each side of the canal which ends in front of an Italian looking garden and two large church-like buildings. Dotted throughout the complex are a variety of sculptures based on those found in Italy and the St. Mark’s Square area hosts beautiful bridges, columns and fountains. The entire fascinating environment offers many opportunities for romantic photography. The Venice can be divided into four main areas:
Thai and International fashion. Here you will find famous brands like Adidas, Boots, Watsons, Playboy, Gap, Rip Curl, Espirit, Zein, Paul Frank and so on.
Food and drinks. Here there are many restaurants, fast-food, coffee and bakery shops such as Porto di Venezia, Kiss Me One, Cafè in Town and Two Two Friend Chicken.
Service Zone. Here you can find Villa-Market, which is an imported products supermarket, banks, IT shops, spas and book stores.
Design & Creative Zone. Here you will enjoy artworks and home decoration items.
Although offering many shopping opportunities, The Venezia is more than just a large theme mall, as it also features several attractions to catch visitors.
Main attractions include: Mini Zoo, 3D Art Gallery, Upside Down House, Gondola Ride, Fontana di Trevi Park, Western Horse Carriage, 4D Cinema and Music Garden.
The several attractions available are sold together or separately and tickets are available at the entrance, where you will also have to pay 50 Baht for entrance fee. Prices are as follows: Gondola ride or Horse cart ride 160 Baht, Mini Zoo 50 Baht, Mini Train ride 40 Baht, 3D Art Gallery 120 Baht, Mini Carousel 50 Baht, Panoramic Wheel 40 Baht and so on.
Opening time: The Venezia mall is open daily from 10am until 11pm.
How to get there: the outlet is conveniently located along Thanon Phetkasem, the Highway N° 3 leading to Bangkok, at Tambon Cha-Am in Phetchaburi Province, approximately 20 minutes drive from Hau Hin centre. To get there, you can use the local buses towards Cha-am, drive yourself a hired car or use the taxi service, roughly 300 baht for a one-way trip.Read More
