Koh Lanta Boats & Ferries
Koh Lanta Yai does not have roads connecting it directly to the mainland, but is served by regular car ferries throughout the year. The crossing is made in two stages, first from Baan Hua Hin on mainland to the Krabi Pier in Koh Lanta Noi, the island nearest the coast, and then from a second pier on Koh Lanta Yai, 5 km southwest, to Saladan Pier in Koh Lanta Yai. Since 2016, Koh Lanta Yai and Koh Lanta Noi are connected with a bridge, which avoids the second crossing by boat. Departures from Hua Hin Pier are frequent throughout the day, from 7 am to 10 pm; the crossing takes about 20 minutes and it cost is about 130 THB for two people and car per one-way. There are plenty of minivan services which connect Phuket, Krabi Town, Ao Nang, and the nearby airports of Krabi and Trang to Koh Lanta. The cost varies depending on the company, normally about 500-600 THB from Krabi and 700-800 THB from Phuket, including the cost of ferry ticket. Most companies offer the transfer up to your hotel in Koh Lanta Yai. In high season, from November to late April, several private company operate boat services connecting Koh Lanta Yai to the surrounding islands, such as Phi Phi Don, Phuket and even the furthermost Koh Lipe. Saladan Pier is the Koh Lanta's main pier. It is located in the northernmost tip of Koh Lanta Yai in a small harbour town which is full of quaint cafes, great seafood restaurants and local souvenir shops.

The Andaman Route from Phuket to Koh Lipe
From 1st November to 1st May, you can travel from Phuket to Koh Lipe through Koh Lanta, and vice versa, without ever setting foot on land. Satun Pakbara Speedboat operates a daily speedboat from Rassada Pier in Phuket, leaving at 08:30 and stopping at Phi Phi Don, Koh Lanta, Koh Ngai, Koh Mook, Koh Kradan, Koh Bulone, before reaching Koh Lipe at 15:30; the boat leaves Koh Lipe at 09:00 for the return trip. The journey from Koh Lanta to Koh Lipe takes about 3 hours and costs about 1,900 THB per person, 1,140 THB for child, while the journey to Phi Phi Don costs 700 THB per person, 420 THB for child, and take about 1 hour. Tigerline Ferry operates a daily ferry from Rassada Pier in Phuket, leaving at 08:00 and stopping at Phi Phi Don, Koh Lanta, Koh Ngai, Koh Kradan, Koh Mook, Trang, before reaching Koh Lipe at 16:00; the boat leaves Koh Lipe at 10:00 for the return trip.
