Phi Phi Islands Boats & Ferries
Located about 814 km south of Bangkok, the Phi Phi Islands do not have their own airport, accordingly to reach the islands you can choose between two travel options to approach, one that requires the use of the flights and one, cheaper, which includes the use of buses. Phuket and Krabi are the nearest cities with airports and bus terminals. Regular ferry services connect Phi Phi Don to both cities throughout the year. There are two piers in Phi Phi Don: the Ton Sai Pier located in the main village and Laem Tong Pier in northernmost tip of island. Ton Sai Pier, situated in the center of Tonsai Bay is the island's main pier and the busiest. In high season, from November to late April, other several private companies operate boat services connecting Phi Phi Don to Koh Lanta, Koh Kradam, Koh Ngai and even the furthermost Koh Lipe and Langkawi in Malaysia. Krabi International Airport is located 15 km from the centre of Krabi and 40 km from Ao Nang. The economic song-thaews pass on the main road, outside the airport, and allow reaching Krabi with a modest price of 30-50 THB. The terminal is the point of arrival and departure of almost all long-distance buses, from Bangkok and neighbouring provinces, as well as all minivans from and to seaside resorts in Southern Thailand. The terminal is well served by public transport of Krabi, taxis, minibuses and song-thaews. Taxis, local buses and minibus to Ao Nang or Krabi Town leave directly from the terminal.
