Also known as the "Pearl of Andaman", the island lies off the west coast of Southern Thailand and is the perfect jumping off point to reach the other gems scattered along the coasts on the Andaman Sea, including the fantastic Phi Phi Islands and Krabi. Regular ferry services connect the island to Phi Phi Don and Krabi throughout the year, while in high season, from November to late April, other several private companies operate boat services connecting Phuket to Koh Lanta, Koh Kradam, Koh Ngai and even the furthermost Koh Lipe and Langkawi in Malaysia. Rassada Pier is Phuket's main pier, where you can get a ferry, boat and even a private speedboat to Phi Phi Don, Krabi, Ao Nang, Railay Peninsula, Koh Lanta and Koh Lipe. The pier is located in Tambon Ratsada, just in front of the island of Koh Sirey, just 10 minute's drive from the centre of Phuket Town, about 9 km from Phuket Bus Terminal 2, 18 Km from Patong, and 36 Km away from the island's airport. Outside the Phuket International Airport there are taxis and limousines that will carry you to the pier, approximately 600-700 THB for a 40-minute trip. Along the pier are the offices of RassadaPier, PhuketFerry, Tigerline Travel and Phuket Marine Police. Next to the pier there's also a ample car park if you need to park your rental car there with a minimal fee.
