Phuket Health Service
With more than ten million visitors per year, no wonder that many tourists need health care in Phuket. Many accidents or physical problems happen during the night when many tourists abuse of alcohol. Fortunately, the standard of public hospitals in Phuket Island is good and the Thai doctors are able to solve any physical problem. For the most serious cases, it is good practice to consult the private clinics in Phuket Town. The standard of Bangkok Hospital Phuket and Bangkok Hospital Siriroj is excellent. These private clinics are well equipped and clean, the staff is friendly and speaks fluent English, and the rooms are comparable to five star Hotels. Most of their doctors have completed their training courses abroad; they are very qualified and speak excellent English. As needed, interpreters for other languages are available. The ambulance services in Phuket are managed by individual hospitals, but it is common to be taken to a hospital by private vehicle or taxi. Unfortunately, for health services in Thailand have to pay, nothing is free. If you need care in the hospital you have to pay for it, if you are not able, or if you refuse to pay, staff allow to leave hospital until you have paid. Ultimately, it is advisable to stipulate a health insurance appropriate before embarking on a travel. The risk of finding yourself without insurance coverage is not a good idea. In the unlikely event that an ambulance service leads you to the hospital for an accident or injury, the hospital will provide first aid necessary to save your life, but follow-up care will be denied if you do not have a good card credit or health insurance.
